The fire outbreak that gutted ‘KOFI TOGO’ enclave in the Adjiriganor area in the Adentan Municipality yesterday evening has misplaced over 3,000.
According to information gathered by www.mayorcarlos.com earlier in the day has it that, there were about 1,500 ‘KIOSKS’ on that plot of land which habours some squatters with their families. Some occupants in the wooden structures told www.mayorcarlos.com that, the fire started from one of the kiosk and in an attempt to put if off, a gas cylinder exploded in the said kiosk which worsened the situation thereby spreading the fire into other structures.
Some residence who spoke to www.mayorcarlos.com blamed the fire Service for the distraction of the whole area because they delayed in arriving at the scene yesterday evening. However, some checks indicates that, it was difficult for the Fire Officers to penetrate the wooden structures due to unavailability of access route into the area.
The Adentan Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nii Nii Adumuah and the Municipal NADMO Director, Mr Humphrey Ankamah and his Deputy has since relocated the affected people in the Adjiriganor AdMA Basic school and provided some blankets as well as clothings to the distressed people.
Mr. Humphrey Ankamah Sarpong, the Adentan NADMO speaking to reporters appealed to corporate organizations and benevolence to cone to their aid in other to provide shelter and clothing for the displaced families.
