In about 42 days more to the deadline given to mobile network subscribers in Ghana to register their SIM and link it to their Ghana Car, many Ghanaians are itching to see the introduction of the ‘SELF SERVICE APPLICATION’ hinted by the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization.
Many Ghanaians interviewed over last few days by www.mayorcarlos.com are of the view that, the introduction of the app will go a log way to help avoid stress as witnessed in many centers of the SIM CARD REGISTRATION.
“If we had an app that can help is go through the second stage of the registration exercise, I believe by now, many subscribers would have completed their registration and thereby linking it to their Ghana Card.” – a subscriber told www.mayorcarlos.com.
As we approach another deadline, many centers will witness ‘stampede’ just as it was witnessed at the Ghana Card registration centers.
Statistics available to www.mayorcarlos.com indicate a sharp decline on SIM CARD linked to GHANA CARD between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd extensions are as follows;
- March 31 Deadline
Week of March 25th (5 days before end of 1st deadline)
892,000 stage 1 registrations
713,000 stage 2 registrations - Week of April 8th (a week after 1st extension)
356,000 stage 1 registrations
287,000 stage 2 registrations - Week of April 15th (2 weeks after 1st extension)

Information available to www.mayorcarlos.com indicates that, the Minister of Communication and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, may not extend the September deadline as she previously did.
