About 6,000 students of Ghana’s Premier University, University of Ghana Students have defied the heavy rains of Tuesday, 23rd August, 2022 to participate in the ongoing elections of TESCON at the Union Block.
The Salam Mustapha led National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party seems to be doing something unique to bring back the love and Passion that Ghanaians Students have for the ideologies of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.
As early as 6am on Tuesday morning, students have already started queueing in front of the Union Block where the elections are currently taking place to cast their vote for their preferred candidates.
Some NDC TEIN, were at the elections grounds to witness the enthusiasm at which their colleagues were exhibition in the elections left them wondering what might have triggered the massive turn out. In their opinion, it a bit surprising the kind of scenes they are seeing here because, in their opinion, the NPP is ‘so unpopular’ among the Ghanaians electorates so for TESCON to record such a massive turn out in their elections on Legon Campus is highly commendable but worrying to their plight as opposition party.
Information gathered at Legon campus by your authoritative www.MayorCarlos.com and confirmed by the TESCON elections committee Chairman, Hon. Charles Oteng has it that, they embarked on a voter registration and were able to register close to 7,000 Students who willingly thronged the registration center within a space of 6 days.
23 TESCON members are currently chasing 9 positions; President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Organizer, Women’s Organizer, Communication Officer and Nasara Coordinator.
Meanwhile, the elections which was supposed to end at 4pm has been extended to 7pm to allow everyone to cast his or her vote
